Planning from day to day

ARRIVAL DAY

On Tuesday 26 August we welcome you between 15:00 and 18:00. There will be a welcome drink and you will have time to explore the grounds and settle into your assigned room Dinner is at 20:00. We will also get to know each other, in several languages. After dinner we will sing together for an hour as a warm-up for the week. After that you are free to do whatever you want. You will also receive a detailed programme of the week on this day. In addition to rehearsals, think of a ‘variety evening’, some more free time on Friday to explore the area, a concert on Sunday and a closing party.

DAILY PROGRAM

08:00 – 09:15 h. Extensive breakfast

09:30 – 11:00 h. Block 1: singers go to hall 1 and musicians to hall 2. 15 minutes of warming up/singing. Then soloists go to the band in groups. The others rehearse the choir pieces that were sent to them in advance, under the guidance of the conductor and the pianist.

11:00 – 11:45 h. Coffee Break

11:45 – 13:15 h. Block 2: each soloist sings with the band for half an hour. The ‘non-soloists’ continue working on the choir pieces.

13:30 h. Lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free.

18:30 – 19:45 h. Rehearsing choir pieces together. The musicians rehearse the choir pieces themselves. The choir rehearses with the band for the last half hour.

20:00 – 21:00 h. Dinner. After dinner you are free.

PERFORMANCE

At the end of this week, on Sunday 31 August, we will perform on the estate itself

PREPARATION

In the course of June, I, Paul Versteeve, will send everyone the choir pieces for preparation. You will receive the score in PDF, in MP3 with your part and the MuseScore file. MuseScore can be downloaded for free. It is useful if you know your part in general. If you want to sing solos, choose three songs that you are going to practice. Give the title, composer and version to Paul.

CLOSING OF THE WEEK

On Monday 1 September we will close the week at 11:00. A number of participants have registered for a performance in Maison Blanche in Toulouse on Monday evening. The sound check is at 18:30 and our performance at 20:30. You decide for yourself whether you stay in Toulouse that night or want to enjoy this beautiful city for more days.
